for national poetry month i’m reading this book of poems by dorianne laux. these are poems about men of all kinds. something that strikes me about these them is how honest they are. this is my first introduction to dorianne laux & i will definitely read more of her work. also, i must have picked this book up at least 10x before I realized the flora on the cover is bursting from a pair of men /5. Liz Bowen Liz Bowen is a writer and literary scholar living in New York. She is the author of the poetry collection Sugarblood (Metatron Press, ) and the chapbook Compassion Fountain (Hyacinth Girl Press, forthcoming), and her poetry and essays have been published in Boston Review, Cosmonauts Avenue, Dream Pop Press, The Atlas Review, and elsewhere. Recently, I bought it again for a friend. The author, James Kavanaugh, is a gifted poet as this book demonstrates. I may have to buy another copy just so I can own it.
